I went cross country skiing for the first time this weekend! What a blast! The adventure took place at Togwotee, which is about 45 minutes north of Jackson. I can't wait to get back out there!

The Infamous Ski Swap
Since my initial visit to Jackson Hole in April, I have been hearing about the annual ski swap. This big sale event is held on the Rodeo grounds and hosts winter gear vendors from all over town. Simply put, it's the biggest sale of the year, and no one misses it. Used equipment as well as last year's gear that was never sold, are for grabs at incredibly marked down prices.
I knew I had to go.
So I went.
Doors opened at 7:30 am, but my friends and I thought it'd be wise to ensure we were one of the first ones inside. We showed up at 5:00 am. We were second in line to those who were sleeping outside the doors. Yes, SLEEPING. We arrived with bells on and breakfast ready to cook. We tailgated the ski swap.

Several thermoses of coffee and peanut butter and bacon sandwiches later, we felt ready to search for winter gear bargains!
I arrived home at 9:30am, fully outfitted for cross country skiing and snowboarding (along with the essentials: goggles, a helmet, wool socks, etc.) at a total price that was way under my limit.
So what I'm trying to say is, I owe a big thank you to my mother, the Queen of bargain shopping. Although she thinks I'm a little crazy for being this extreme, I owe it to her for having taught me so well. Now, I get to ski and snow board this winter! :)

A Hike Up the Ski Hill!
Here are some pictures of recent hikes up Snow King - the ski hill I will be spending a lot of my time on come winter!
Notice the terrain on the path change as I gained elevation...
I hiked to the ski lift!
